Hi, I'm Carola

Welcome to my website!

I’m a Conference Interpreter and Interpreter Trainer.

I firmly believe in building bridges through communication. Little did I know how far this profession would take me and how much I would enjoy the ride.

Even starting almost from scratch when I moved to the US after an almost decade-long career in Argentina proved to be an inspiring adventure.

I still enjoy interpreting on shop floors and behind closed doors with union leaders and CEOs, but I have also had the chance of lending my voice to major news networks.

Whenever I leave for work, my 7-year old asks me if I’ll be locked up again for the day (yes… interpreting in prisons also pays some bills) or if that specific day I will be teaching others to do the job.

According to my kids, I’m the best. The only caveat here is that they might not be 100% objective. However, I can assure you that I will give my best to help YOU succeed!

My languages

Connecting people across languages

English

I learned English at an early age and continued to develop it through travel, reading, and plenty of TV shows and movies. I earned my degree in Translation Studies (English–Spanish) in 2010, and since moving to the United States in 2015, English has been both my professional language and part of my everyday life. Full immersion has added a whole new layer to how I use the language—right down to experiencing things I’d only seen in movies before, like riding a classic yellow school bus on a field trip with one of my kids.

Spanish

I spent most of my childhood and early adulthood in Argentina, where I went to school and university. I’ve traveled extensively throughout Latin America, and Spanish has always been at the center of my personal and professional life. I especially enjoy those moments when people can’t quite place my accent or figure out where I’m from. (And yes, funnily enough, the same thing often happens when I speak German).

German

I grew up in a German-speaking household, where German was part of everyday life from the start. While other kids watched TV, we watched German shows on videotape at home (yes, I'm that old!). I later spent three months studying at a university in Munich and value the perspective of having been raised between two cultures.

French

I began studying French after high school and earned my C1 diploma. The language quickly became more than an academic pursuit when I met my future French husband. Today, we speak French at home and visit family in France every year, making the language a meaningful part of both my personal and professional world.
